hey could i buy 10 dollars worth, put them in a heavily planted tank, and expect fry to live?

I have guppies in a 10 gallon and the fry do just fine without seperating them from the mom. I'd add plenty of floating plants...

they will only survibe if it is just guppys and alot of hiding plant such as java fern

You could definitely gte some fry to survive.

How big will the tank be? If it'll be big, you could get a ratio of 1 male to 3 females, and have tons of fry. if nothing else, the fry will feed their parents. :D

I don't think the original post was for feeders because I thought the same thing. Plus, it's safer to go with tank-bred fish because they are more forgiving of mistakes and less than perfect atnk conditions.

well i didnt actually mean 10. i meant along the lines of 5. i usually hold guppies in my community tank and feed them to my cichlids. (sorry i have been trying to get them on flakes but this was all they ate at my lfs). i noticed some pregnant females and i moved them into my fry tank with my month old mollies. they are around the same size and i was also wondering if my mollies would eat their fry. they are maybe tops a centimeter. how big would the fry be if the guppies did however drop? thanks

if ur molly babys are only 1 cm they usually wont eat the guppy fry but the moher might
