My planted, sandy 170L tank is now a few months old with the following population:
20 Neon Tetra
3 Swordtails (MFF)
3 Burmese Border Loaches
1 Bristlenose plec
I'm happy with my tank and the whole fishy thing in general, so thanks to all posters and especially those who answered my questions along the way!
I've got some more though...
How do I know if there is enough algae in the tank to keep the Bristlenose happy? He/she/it seems to love sucking on the bogwood and rocks, but is there enough algae on them?
I run the main tank light from 3pm-midnight, and also for half an hour in the morning when I feed them. Is there any issue with a "long day" and a "short day" every 24 hours? Will the fishies get confused!?
I've bought some frozen bloodworm cubes for my new friends. What do I do with them? Just drop them in? Or do they need thawing first? Or perhaps sauted with some garlic and a little pepper? (Mmmmm)
