Hi guys just a quick question.
How long do you guys keep micro worms in with your fry when you feed them?

I have just bred some bettas and im feeding my fry microworms, i leave them in a day, and then siphon out what i can with a airline tube, then put in a fresh feed.

I just feed small amounts often and I normally add some fry safe scavengers to clean up any excess. Preferably cherry shrimp. Although mircoworms will stay alive in the water for quite a while. For some reason, I have a medium population of grindal worms in my fry tank. They are all over the bottom then I turn the light on and then they all freak out and start heading for the filter. They have been able to stay alive and reproduce in that tank for almost 6 months now.

If you are posting in this section then you must mean killifish fry. I presume you are rearing the fry in a seperate sparse bare bottom tank. If that is the case then Microworms live for quite a time in water so you can leave them for around half an hour to an hour before extracting them. You might find them grouping into little balls of worms and they are relatively easy to extract. I use a large syringe with a length of airline attached which makes this type of job simple. Dont forget to alternate your fry foods with newly hatched brineshrimp which is much has much more nutritional value.
