how dig do they get
and could they go in a 12g(uk) tank with
corys
guppies(i might get red of them)
mollies
platys
glowlight tetras
and a pair of cockatoo apisto

Threadfin rainbows, can reach 2in (5cms) and are mainly upper level swimmers, they will take live/frozen or prepared foods, however, they have a small throat, so take that into consideration when feeding.

Personally I think they require a larger tank, 20g as they are very fast and require a good amount of swimming space. You want a group of 6+, one male to two females and they need very good water quality, twice weekly w/c to keep nitrAtes low.

In your 12g tank, IMO your well stocked as it is.

Edit: Mods please move to right section, thanks :)

I agree with Minx, the tank is at it's stocking limit so I wouldn't add anything else.

is it overstocked?
3 platys
3mollys
3 guppys
2 corys
2 glowlights
2 cockatoo apisto

If you go by the 1" per gallon guideline, then you are overstocked.

3 platys 6"
3mollys 9"
3 guppys 6"
2 corys 5"
2 glowlights 4"
2 cockatoo apisto 4"

Taking into account the adult sizes, you may find you have a problem in the future. Apistogrammas will become territorial when breeding and may stress your other fish.
Mollies can get to quite a size and are too boisterous for a 12G tank.

on hear every one said evan a breeding pair of cockatoos will be fine with all the fish

I remember your other topic and most people said not to keep Apistos with certain fish.
Cockatoos are very territorial when breeding and the mother is very territorial when guarding her fry. I had mine in a 3ft tank and the female took over two thirds of the tank.
They would be fine with the Tetras and maybe a couple of Guppies but I wouldn't have much more in the tank with them.

ill get red of the glowlights an guppies i was going to but i though i might be able too keeep them but if they go will it be ok

The Glowlights would be fine in there and you could up the number of them to 6.
I would also up the number of Cories to 4, depending on whether they are fine with the Apistos.
It would be worth looking at rehoming the other fish.

whats the smallest tank i could keep a pair of cockatoos in because i might get a new tank to put them in because i dont really want to get red of the platys and mollys

You would be better trying to get a 20G+ if you want to keep the Mollies and Platies. The Apistos will be fine in the existing tank with the Tetras.
12G is too small to keep Mollies long term as they require plenty of swimming space.

nah i wont be able to get the money
and my mum wouldnt let me get another tank that size a little 40l or somethink like that but not a 20g

Doesn't make much difference, but if yours is 12 UK gallons, that's about 14.5 US gallons which is what we normally talk in?

40L would still be too small for keeping Mollies long term, they need at least 20G.
