I have an adult female guppy who's swim bladder has gone - is there any hope for her? Been like this for over a week now, still feeding well, but gradually losing weight which has never happened before.

Thank you.

I'm sorry but once they start going on sided and having real trouble swimming there really isn't any hope for them. If I believe correctly, it isn't causing any pain for them, just the constant battle of trying to swim correctly. There is treatments out there but I have never had any luck with them. Its not catchable so again not harming the other fish in the tank. If its losing weight I would kill it as quickly as you can...
Sorry

Thanks Kieren, thought as much myself.

Apparently when they turn upside down it's pretty much fatal...saying that I had an upside down goldfish for about 2-3 years before it died. The fish seemed to adapt well to it.

my ballon molly did that....she died within 2 days (of going upside down) was pretty eppic to watch her lil black body swim about in all sorts of directions!
