Fat Red Wag Platy

hi ive had my red platy(SALLY) SINCE END OF NOV 05 SHE HAS A MATE RED WAG WHO FOLLOWS HER AROUND LIKE A PUPPY DOG,I HAVE NEVER SEEN THEM MATE BUT SHES SOOO FAT! SHE ALWAYS HAS BEEN BUT NO FRY ,UNLIKE MY BLACK CALICO PLATY SHES BEEN SEEN MATING SHE GAVE BIRTH TO TEN FRY TWO DAYS AFTER I PUT HER IN MY TANK ,SO IS SHE FAT OR CAN SHE BE PREGNANT FOR ALL THIS TIME?ALSO MY MOLLYS ARE ALWAYS AT IT I GOT HER 5WEEKS AGO WHEN SHOULD I SEE BABYS.

She might be holding on to her fry, due to stress, or unsatisfactory conditions. What other fish are in the tank, and how many gallons? It's possible she's sick, and not pregnant. What are the water stats, and any chance of a picture?

she may not have many places to hide, the male may be bothering her too much, purhaps you could puchase another female platy or 2, that would direct his attention else where and give her time to hide and have her babys.

Hi sorry about caps new to this ,my set up is 180 vision,18 live plants,2 other female platy,also i have 2 other males but red wag is boss always chasing others off ive got lots off hiding areas my last female went under the filter area at night so i put the light out,she gave birth to 10,i hav neons mollys ect total fish 25,
no3 is10 no2 is o ,i do a 10% water change every week .so im baffled.
