Just thought I would let you all know what happened in my big tank the day before yesterday. We keep large fish in our tank...i.e.oscar,severum,pike cichlid, shovelnose catfish and some large silver sharks. All this fish have been living happily together for a while now. However, the other evening after work,we could only see 3 of our 4 silver sharks. One of our shovelnose catfish was "wobbling" on the bottom of the tank with the biggest belly we have ever seen!! Obviously our silver shark has met his end being eaten by the shovelnose!!

They are Lima shovelnoses. The tiger shovelnoses would get too big for my 300g tank, which is a pity because I would love to keep them.

Bala was about 7-8inches(at a guess) and the smallest of the 4. The shovelnose that ate it is the middlesized one of our 3,about 12-13 inches(another guess). I posted pics ages ago of this tank,so I do believe you have seen it before,as you posted in the topic(was in photo section).
