I looked at the weekend for some dried yeast when shopping. All that was there was labelled as 'Fact Acting' stuff, either branded or the shops own. Is this what I need for making my own mix for the pinned Nutrafin recipe?

Cheers, I'll pick some up this weekend.

I'm using a small tub of Allinson's dried active yeast from Tesco's and it's been great.
Plenty of bubbles. :good:
It's a bit more expensive than the other stuff in the shop, but the re-sealable tub is very handy.

I didn't see tubs, just packets, but given that my Nutrafin sachet has lasted about 1 week I am going to pick some of the fast acting stuff up at the shops, amazing how the box says '3 to 4 weeks' per pair of sachets! Pah!

Although, it's entirely possible to blag free fresh yeast off supermarket bakeries :) I know Sainsburys usually gives you some free if you ask, and there's no reason not to try the others.

Actually I should ask at work, I would hope our cookery dept must have yeast somewhere! They'll possibly look a bit confused when I say it is for my aquarium!
