For some reason, my mail guppy died a while ago, so now there are just 3 females in the tank. I was doing some maintenance today and then I fed the fish afterwards to try and help them feel better, and I noticed this little clear lookin' thing that looked like it wuz swimming in my tank. I started to freak out, then I looked closely and it's a baby guppy...LOL I don't know how long it'll last in the tank but i might just have to go get another male to see if they will breed all the time. My barbs and puffers may like that

Just a question...Do I need to turn my filter down? I noticed this baby guppy seems to stay around the stream between a bunch of plants. Is the strong current going to tire it out eventually?

Is that the only hiding place for the little guy? I think it would move if it got tired out enough.

Sidenote: How is the puffer situation coming out, but the way? You have 5, so are there any fights? How long you have them?

I've had the puffers in there for a few months now. No fights, sometimes one or two might get chased outta someones turf if they are feeling cantankerous, but there is a lot of space for 5 DPs in a 45G tank. Sometimes they all actually swim around together. :p

There are a lot of other places to hide if he really wanted to. I'm tempted to start digging through my tank to see if there are any other baby guppies hiding.

Yeah, if there are any other ones they've found places they are comfortable with, no sense in stressing them out already.

Especially since I just moved that tank into my room not 2 weeks ago and didn't see any babies. And I drained the tank pretty much almost empty

The surprising thing is that I think I once totally removed all the water from one of my tanks and found a fry in it when I put new water in. It was a zebra danio fry, though.

lol, i went to the LFS today for some ghost shrimp and i was looking in the bag and they accidentally added a little fry of some sorts. I think they had neon tetra's in the tank with the shrimp, but i'm not quite sure. I didn't really pay attention to what wuz in the feeder tank, i wuz too busy perusing the "real" fish :p
