Does anyone have a guide on keeping fairy shrimp? I want them for my small display aquarium.

For freshwater or saltwater?
Normally they are kept in ponds without filtration and fed on green water and infusoria. However, the water stays cleaner if you can have a small air operated sponge filter bubbling away in their tank. You can also keep them in a planted tank with an airline (no airstone) bubbling away. Try to encourage the water to turn green and they will grow in there.

For freshwater planted aquarium, the tank is outdoor. Is it possible to feed them without green water?

You can keep small numbers in planted tanks and they eat infusoria but you won't have many. If you want them for fish food then you need to feed them on algae or infusoria (algae is better). Some people feed them yeast but I have never done well using yeast in live food cultures.

Thanks Colin. How do you make infusoria?
