One of my neon tetras have dramatically faded in colour.

It is no longer red and blue, it is brown and purple.

The other 5 are fine.

Tank size: 60L
Water stats: Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, nitrates 20-30
Temp: 25.4C
fish:3 platys, 6 neons, 6 pygmy corys.

Tank was fishless cycled, and ive had no deaths, tank has been running 3 weeks.

I feed them on Colour enhancing tropical flakes (which is why this matter confuses me), brine shrimp and pellets.
All other fish are PERFECT, and i just wanna help out my lil neon. He is in perfect condition except for colour, he appears to be eating normally although he does spend most of his time hiding. He is not being bullied as far as i can tell (infact i saw him nudging a much larger platy xD) so i really dont see what can be wrong. Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

~Kyle.

Is the red stripe brown and the blue purple.
Can you describe the texture, is the brown velvety, rust looking colour, fluffy.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing by the fish.

Thanks Wilder for your fast reply.

The fish is in 100% perfect condition, except for its colour.

I gave the tank an extra dose of food this evening and his colour seems to be reutrning. Thanks.

Thats good news then.
Keep a look out to make sure the red sttipe dosn't looked bleached out, or the blue colour going brown.
