I was thinking of a JD and a Syno cat (S.angelica) for my 260 juwel... after the advice given here I now feel that these guys would be better off in a bigger tank (I plan a 6-footer in the next 6 months or so, where I feel they would be happier ), so am down-sizing my ideas.

So how would a couple of Gold Cichlids (2 x Thorichthys aureus) and a small group of cats ( M. thoracata) with one or two spotted or striped raphaels sound?

your advice as ever appreciated!

How many liters is that? Sorry I'm an American out of the loop.

260 litres...

NObody Of The Goat has helped me with the cats and the addition of Ilyodon xantusi; want to know if the T.aureus, although a smaller cichlid, would be a good idea or not? What research I've done so far seems to point to the mix being OK...

Yes the T. aureus should do well in the mix. I would also stick with the spotted raphael as they stay smaller.
