what causes eye cloud? and how can it be treated? and how will it affect my fish? jus questions...

Found this on another thread: We treated one of our girls who had this with Myxacin and it worked really well.

Cloudy eye is a systom of a desease not a desease in its own right.
Causes.
bad water quaity.
Stress.
Old age.
Irratation.
Poor diet.
Parasites.
Bacterial.

It's not actually specific to any particular disease or infection. If you catch it in time then it shouldn't cause any permanent damage. Our girl is doing great now but we don't know exactly what caused it

just one of my girls looked last night as if she might have popeye and eye cloud at the same time.. maybe its jus a bad case of eye cloud.. i started a treatment today... but i was just wondering... ive never had a fish that had that....

she scared me at first when i saw her last night...

Sounds the same as what our girl had. We treated with Myxacin for 5 days and even though she had a bad eye it didn't stop her at all from muscling her way past the other girls for food It's not nice looking but hopefully your meds should start working.....what are you treating with??

myaxcin.... i was going to start with melafix.. (considering theres a illustration on the damn bottle saying it will treat popeye and eye cloud) but i was sure if that would work...

Melafix only helps with the symptoms (healing) and not the cause. We used them at the same time so you could try doing that too as you have both. Hope she's ok
