Just recently today, my two yoyo loaches look pale and are acting very weird. They keep going really close to each other, rubbing their sides on stuff, and are following each other really closely. I looked online, and one site said this could be breeding. Are they breeding, or are they sick?

one of them just regained its color and is swimming around, the other is hiding in a decoration. could it be that this is just breeding? its really bizzare

I doubt it breeding behavior. First we need your water parameters. Rubbing on rocks is called flashing and they do this due to poor water parameters or parasites. Look really closely at the fish and see if you can see white spots on the fish like grains of salt.

classic sparring behaviour.
they are sizing each other up for the alpha position.

really you should add more as they are gregarious and need to be kept in groups to be able to establish a proper heirachy :good:

thats a coinsidence i was just reading about sparring and the assosciated colour changes, the colour comes back when the weaker fish gives realizes he has lost the sparr, ( maybe not worded correctly)they should be in groups of 3 or more

wish you all the best as they are really lovely fish, unfortunatley im not experienced or blessed with a large enough tank for them ( yet)
