AIM is 2" per us gallon stocking

i have a 400+ litre corner tank

I have filtering on the tank is 2x 1200 lph externals and 2x 1000 lph internals and it's planted - only lightly at the moment

in there are

8 betta imbellis ,8 pygmy corys , 5 rice fish , 1m guppy ,1 golden balloon ram (was the bully boy now a quite little lamb) , 4 albino corys , 2 skunk corys, 4 trilineatus corys ,4 bn plecs , apple snails , shrimps and MTS snails

will be adding 20 sparkling gouramis and 8 gertrudes rainbows and 2x L411 plecs

just wondering what else would go in there

THE other is a RIO 300 - purchased for £30 as a 240 but measures as a 300 cos it's 121cm x 51cm x 62cm

2x 1200 lph externals and 1x 1000 lph internal filter

8 female bettas , 4 Dwarf ,6 honey gouramis,1 bolivian & 2 gold balloon rams, 2x F2 german blue rams , 3 triple red apistos , 7 peppered, 4 trilineatus ,8 venezuelanus, 5 panda ,3 cw021 corys ,4 sterbai corys , 4 black corys , 1 delphax cory ,2 bn plecs , cherrys , CRS amano's , apple snails 2 common plecs (came with other tank)

Thats alot of plecs (full size) in the 400 you also may have problems at feeding time, the 411's will require a much more meatier diet thanthe BN's but trying to stop the BN's getting is going to be an issue and the 411's arnt particulary good at competeing for food, and may not feed to well with so many bottom dwellers in the tank.

Cant help with stocking, due to the fact that i would have advised on plecs and cory's but you already have to many (IMO) for that tank already ;)

Also the 300 wont house to commons plec comfortably and also the 2 BN's aswell, you may find the BN's to get bullied.

havent added any more corys since upgrading from the rio 180 and they are all thriving and all work well together , all thats been added is the common plecs - which were adopted with the tank

the bn's pair can get moved to kids 120 litre tank if there's a prob with them

I always go for 2" per US gallon stocking

I didnt say you had, and i also didnt say they DIDN'T thrive, i commented on the proposed stocking like you asked and that was the introduction of more plecs, and i gave a reason why purley for diet, requirements and possible problems with feeding, stocking levels have no relevence when a fish isnt fully compatible.

Having a plec or 2 that eats solely a meat product and then the other fish that shouldnt be you could end up with digestion problems for the other fish (with such a meat diet required for the 411) or purley under nurished plecs

Why do i bother lol

i will target feed the l411's getting quite good at target feeding fish as i have some disabled fishies that i have rescued from lfs's the only way they can feed is through targeted feeding so hopefully i will be ok with the l411

I do appreciate you telling me they are meat eaters and as so will now be target fed the meaty foods when i collect them - is a couple times a week meaty foods for the L411's ok ?

at the moment they are only being fed on whats listed below so will be good to get some meat into them

from ebay ad
Feeding on a various range of foods, including brineshrimp pellets, Tetra Prima and JBL nutri tabs, will take to anything though. all healthy and vigerous.

OK so apart from the plecs and corys what can i add to the tank - thanks for the help jenclibee now the L411's will get the food they need to thrive

no one got anymore ideas --- o goodness this is going to take some thinking on then
