Hi all

I am having real problems choosing a skimmer for my 100gl tank. i am not running a sump with this set-up so i can not have a skimmer that goes in there. I thought about Red Sea's Prizm skimmer that hangs on the side of the tank but my tank has been made by clearseal and has a 3 inch shelve that runs around the top of the tank, it only has small gaps in the corners, so now i am worrying that it will not fit. I was wondering if anyone knows of an external skimmer that can be placed by the side of the tank, kind of like a external filter would.

Please help me with this, its holding me back :good:

Thanks

Is above the tank an option? If so, look at "recirculating" skimmers.... Some recirculating ones can also be ran on the side, or a HOB skimmer could be modified to fit if you have some flexible pipe about ATM.... :good:

Thanks rabbut

No way, it can not go above, a pic of my set-up is in the marine journals section if you want to see what i am up against. I am really struggling with this

Stay away from prizm, would a sleak in-tank skimmer work?

Are you in the states or europe?

Hi Musho, i am in the UK, do you know what i have not really given it a thought, i have been so intent to have it hang on, that i forgot to look into them  cheers mate, are they any cheaper? are there any nice looking units?

Ok so i found a skimmer that hangs on the side and ordered it. I got the underworld which is good for 100gl and the good thing is, it came with the added option of an extension kit for tanks with a brace that is bigger then 1" (mine about 3") I would like to have got the deltec but i need to keep the budget down abit for this set-up, the one i have chosen was £100 so not really cheap, i just hope its gonna work ok for me.

Thanks all
