Can anyone reccomend a good external filter for the above tanks, i am looking to free up the space the internal box filter takes up!

Also a rough guide to getting one of these filters set up would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Try a fluval 105 for the 70 litre, there is some over filtration using the 105 as its ment for up to 100 litre tanks.

And then using the 205 for the 96 litre tank, this will be lots of over filtration, as I think it can do 200 litre tanks

Or just use a 105 for each tank ! should be fine for the 96 liter with average stocking

I dont know the eheim range that well , so cant really comment

I run a rena xp2 on a record 120 and a fluval 204 on my 60L both are over filtered but better over gunned than under.
Both work well enough, never had a problem .
I ran an Eheim 2231 ecco for a year and was really disappointed with the flow rate and found it a pain to prime.

I ran a Eheim classic 2213 which did a fabulous job. And for £50 all inclusive you really can't go wrong. 10 Seconds to prime (well just about) and it doesn't even have an auto prime function. And so quiet you can't even hear it :good:

I'd agree with Bloo on this one. The eheim classic 2213 is a great filter. :)
