External Filter

i have a rio 180 , juewl , would it be possible to add an external filter and run the filter along wih my exsiting filter , ?? how would you cycle the new filter , was looking at somethng like this http/shop.aquakoiaquatics.com/fluval-205-external-filter---220v-1446-p.asp

If you wanted to keep the internal then just add the external,you could always nab some of the media out of the internal to kick start it,you would be better getting a filter with a higher filtration for turnover,then you could remove the internal,have more room in the tank,in that case just put all the mature media into the new external,keep an eye on it for a week or so just in case of any spikes and away you go

Have a look at these the eheim 2215 classic or higher would be a good choice
