External Filter

Im moving house in two weeks and need to empty my 220 litre aquarium.The fish will be housed at my lfs for a couple of weeks. What is the best way to disconnect my external filter without flooding the carpet.

Your best off disconnecting the hoses from the cansiter, and emptiying the water out of the canister, leaving the media in. Then, put a bucket under the hoses and open the valves, once the tank is emptyed of water, to drain those. Once empty, remove the hoses and package for moving.
