Hi

I have a nice planted arc arcadia 35l up and running and think the filter I am running in it is not up to the job. It’s very tiny and is the standard one that comes with the arc tank (Classica power filter). I have crammed just about as many plants in there as I can and hate having equipment in such a small space so would love a good external filter.

Filters is an area I am not so hot on so could someone recommend a good external filter suitable for a small but very heavily planted 35l tank. I will soon have fish in there so would like it to be quite a good one, but don’t want to spend the earth on it.

Ideally it would be the sort that I can get an external heater into as well.

Suggestions?

i like my aquaclear 20. never tried anything else, never needed anything else. plus the variable flow rate is very convenient.

Hmm. thanks for the input - looks like a good filter but a bit massive - I also want one I can hide down the side somewhere. That would look a bit odd on the side on my 35l tank.

Cheers though, wish I had a tank big enough for it!
