i am getting an Eheim classic external canister filter for my new 75gal, i will be positiong the filter under the tank.

my question is, as the filter is about 4.5 feet below the water line of the tank, will it be able to pump the water back to the tank ok, and also where can i buy extra lengths of hose for the filter as i'm guessing it wont come with that amount in hoseing with it?

cheers

Yer, it should pump ok, if not better with the extra height. Extra hose should be available from your lfs, they all sell it round here by the meter.

Even the smallest model the 2213 has a head delivery height of 4'11" so it wont be a problem.

Do you intend the 2213 to be the only filter on that tank? If so, take care and watch your parameters. I found my 2213 was not coping with my 220 litre (55 US gallon) even though the filter is said to ba capable of upto 250 litres (cycling 440 litres an hour). I invested in an Eheim Pro II 2028 which can filter 750 litres an hour.
