Exploding Fish! HELP!

Hi Guys.

My friend has just told me about a horrible thing that has happend to 2 of his Dwarf Rainbowfish. He said that they looked like there insides had burst out of there bellys!

He has checked his water quality and everythings fine.
Reasently he also lost 2 Clown Loaches.

Does anyone know why this has happended and whats the cure.

Sorry if this sounds sarcastic but would there be a cure if their guts had burst out of their bellies?
On a more serious note, a few months ago when one of my Striped Raphael Cats died his stomach was very very swolen... like he'd swallowed a pebble, it looked like it was going to pop, is this what your friend means or did they literally explode?

When I asked about a cure, I ment what to do to prevent it from happening again!

If you could of seen the parasites in the water, but they would of found a new host.

The only thing that I can think of that would cause the fish to explode would be internal swelling. It's finding the cause that's the problem. If possible, have your friend mix some strong anti-bacterial medication with the food he's feeding his fish. See if that helps.

Bloat from bacteria, or constipation. If he is feeding them too rich a diet, they could get constipated, leading to bloat. Tumors could cause that to happen, though I doubt both fish would get this at the same time. Any tankmates with the exploding fish besides the loaches?
