I know that female guppies sometimes get tired after giving birth. Mine gave birth 2 days ago, and she still is just floating and looks to be gasping, and hasn't ate much. I have seperated her from the male b/c like he always does he just will not leave her alone. Will she come out of this?

do you just have the one female??
it is highly recommended that you keep 2-3 females to every 1 male

Yes I only have one female. I do not want to get any more than this because I only have them in a 10 gallon. So I don't want to have a ton of fry. I am olny breeding them for feeder fish.

When I got home I took a closer look at her and she looks like her scales are sticking out a little bit. I know she must have something. What would it be?

Dropsy and sad to say she is dying, issolate her so at least she can die in peace, sorry.

What other fish are with them? Even if they are feeder fish, it doesn't make them any less deserving of a good life. With only one female per male, she is constantly pursued by the male, and therefore, stressed out. Sometimes to the point of aborting, having birthing difficulties, or even dying. You seem to be experiencing the effects of the stress on her now. Hence why you should get more females. If she pulls through this, she likely won't last long with all that stress, and that certainly won't help you get more fry for feeders.

And yes, it does sound like she has dropsy. It's usually incurable, sorry to say, but I have cured it once. I used Tetracycline, lots of nice clean water, and a little bit of salt. Good luck.
