my guppy gave birth to her second batch of fry last night, and now she seems utterly exhausted.

she was being bullied by the male again, so i've separated her into the baby floating tank for now so she can have a break.

is it likely that she will die? this is the 2nd lot of fry shes had whilst i've had her, but i dont know how many lots shes had before i had her (ive had her since january)

is there anything i can do to make her stronger?

I doubt she will die. Mine are like this for a few days after giving birth.

To make her stronger, feed her good healthy foods...such as bloodworms, Brine Shrimp..etc. Live, frozen, or freeze-dried should work.

You did the right thing in seperating her from the male. Often the males are big harassers to females, which is why having a ratio of 3 females per male is reccomend so the stress is spread out.
I noticed after my females give birth they are extrememly hungry so i feed a little bit more than the others at this time to regain her strength. The foods Anna mentioned are good for filling them up nicely.

i know what you mean about the male to female ratio, but she's brought it on herself.

everytime i get a new fish in the tank that she doesnt like (most of them) she kills them!

i bought a female so the male had another one to share attention with, it was the biggest female guppy i've ever seen! and it was dead the next day, had been bashed to death by the looks of it :S

well that's solved the bullying problem anyway.

she looked better when i came home earlier today, but i've just fished her out dead :(

i guess she died of exhaustion, or maybe still had one inside her

at least i got approx 20 babies out of her overall - 5 have made it to near adult stage, so i suppose for once i'm in positive figures!
