Just look at the state of this... Am I right in thinking I shouldnt vac the sand or gravel for a few weeks after cycling??? does it have too look this bad for that long?
if I get plecs will they help? or are they a bit too delicate to add after cycling?
if your cycles (I assume you've done a fish less one by the sounds of it) you should be fine adding fish to a medium/high stocking level as the bacteria will be well developed from the ammonia you've been adding.
Its important to keep the bacteria 'fed' so add fish asap if your nolonger adding amonia.
as long as its cycled most plecs should be fine.
ps - I'd give the sand a bit of a stir and let the filter pick up the mess
Yes fully fishless cycled and 130 gallons of tank being fed with ammonia awaiting a water change and some fish....
I am going to Aquatics Warehouse in Bethnal Green on Sunday to look for some plecs...what would you reccommend SmithRC ( Only asking as you seem to have a wonderful collection)...looking for 1 algie eater at least and maybe some spots and some stripes have spent hours on planet catfish looking at pics but some guidance would be great...if you have the time
