Hi, I have a 10 gallon tank w/ neon tetras (6), 2 corydoras, and a adf.

i recently noticed that some of the tetras have the tell tell sign of ich!

i read your post on treating ich, but i want to be careful about the meds, salt & heat used because i know the corys (& the tetra) can be sensitive to these 3 important methods of treatment.

i am getting ready for a water change now. & would like to check back for instructions on treating this particular group of fish that are sensitive to ich treatment. any, all suggestions would be very helpful, thanks!

Corys are not prone to whitespot, but they are very sensitive to parasite meds, read instruction and if it says half dose with scaless fish do so.
Also increase aeration in the tank, and for whitespot temp should be 30.
Don't add salt as the cory won't handle it, plus neon tetras can be funny with it, plus the frog, i would issolate the frog as the whitespot med he won't cope with it.

thanks wilder. i'll bump up the temp, remove the frog, use NO salt & the meds i bought quick cure. i'll only do half dose for the corys & tetras, as i read that it can be hars on them.

This is a good article on treating ich: http://www.thekrib.com/Diseases/ich.html

Also, keep the tank lights off for the duration of the treatment - Ich likes light apparently (pain in the butt at night as you can't see the fish, but well worth it in the end).

Ok, good luck, don't forget to increase aeration with the high temp and med it will reduce 02 in the tank.
