I've just started with my little shoal of 6 silver tipped tetras and from what I can tell I have 5 females and 1 male. I've come to this conclusion becuse the one I think is male is slimmer and nearly orange whereas the others are round-bellied and pale.
The problem is this male won't leave the others alone. I was expecting a nice happy shoal but instead I have 3 fish hiding behind the heater another 2 amongst the plants and one male which zips around constantly nipping the others, chasing them and being generally annoying, he just doesn't stop except to sometimes swim into the centre of the tank as if to say 'look at me! look at me! I'm in charge here!'
What could be causing such anti social behaviour? They are feeding well, the temp, pH etc is all good. Is he just an evil fish?
