well howdy doody everyone. its been a while since ive been on so i thought id say hullo and re-intoduce myself as i see there is alot of new names since i was last on for any length of time.

for those who dont know me, my name is mark, im from scotland and i breed bettas, in particular PK's.

its been a bit of rough time for my fish lately. i moved into a new flat in june 08 and the change triggered some kind of disease went thru my tanks. on moving in i had a sorority of about 8 or 9 females, no two alike, wonderfuly colourful. and i had a devided tank housing 8 males. one by one, my collection dwindled. i moved to another new place about a month ago, and the last few fish affected by the disease dropped off.... including my only surviving home-bred black marble PK female.. my last male died and i was left with only two very quarelsome females (both of which behave like males on occasion and have caused me great confusion on their gender).

i have now a peacful sorrority of 6 females, a cambo red VT, cambo blue pk, red/grey DT, and three melano pk. im hoping to find a couple of nice males soon and restart my breeding program.

so whats new with everyone else then?

Hi Mark....good to see you here again :D

What a nightmare you've had with your guys and moving. I know how frustrated you must have felt but hope that you soon have your breeding programme up and running again.

So what are your plans for your first spawn?

We recently did a spawn with our dragon FT and were really amazed at how many PKs we ended up with lol they never cease to surprise!!!!

Moving aint fun when you got betta to go too, I went through a tough time after moving all the bettas home from the shop, lost a fair few as some were really young but the surviving have grown in leaps and bounds and I'm really pleased with the results, good luck with the future with them :good:

thanks for the welcom guys!

well one of my not-so-LFS told me today they are geting in some localy bred PKs in, in the next week or so. hopefuly they will be some nice colours in there and il get a few nice indaviduals. il be setting up a small breeding tank soon, and hope to be breeding again soon.

my original line started from pet-shop bought wild type pk male X green marble vt female.

from that i got a black orchid VT male who i paired to a melano pk female and i got a beautiful black marble pk female and i was desperate to breed from her.. but alas she surcum to the disease..

my original intenion was to produce a black marble HMPKCT... so i was half way there. back to square one, lol, here we go again :p
