does anybody know if a german appliance will work in the UK if i just change the plug?

should't be a problem they have 230v as far as I'm aware and we have 240v many products I have bought the technical rating says 230v and they have never blown up

yes they will work no problem
infact all Eheims come with the original Euro plug, inside an adapter for UK plugs.

Hi,

Germany, as far as I can remember, is 230VAC 60Hz, and the UK is 230VAC 50hz. The pump may run a little slower, and hotter here, but shouldn't cause an issue.

Yes that is fine to do that,

I have tank lights, heaters, filters all bought in Germany, never had a problem.
