Below is a list if information you MUST know before purchasing ANY fish for your lovely new aquarium - always remember to know your tanks capacity, ambient temperature, PH, and water hardness - These questions assume that your tank has cycled- please please please you ensure any fish you are interested in purchasing are compatible with your water conditions.

How large does this fish grow?

Is it compatible with current fish (potential purchases also)

Does this fish shoal? If so, what is the minimum number I should buy?

What is this fish's natural diet, and how do I feed it?

What decorations/hiding places/plants does this fish require/prefer?

There are many more questions you should ask, these are just a rough guideline. Always know the Latin name of any fish you wish to buy as many species are similar in appearance and behaviour. If necessary, write it down! Also, research a good aqautic supplier from which to purchase your charges - get customer feedback and talk with the owner.

It's well worth creating a list of fish you wish to buy - it's easier than buying stock piecemeal, and you can check compatibility issues straight off. You'll be glad you did.
