Esha Test Kit

hi

has anyone used the esha test kit, as cant understand results.


gh readings are
gh 7, dt 14 and th 21
what does this mean my gh is?

carbonate hardness shows as 20 d on chart but needs converting.
both above state in instructions to use conversion chart but it makes no sense to me.

ph is 8.4 seems very high.

nitrate and nitrite easy to read and ok

any help would be great.

Are those strips? Based on the fact that they test the items you mentioned and don't test ammonia, I would assume it is a 5-in-1 strip kit. Strips are notoriously inaccurate. Knowing the GH & KH is nice but not terribly important unless you are having pH problems. I would tos them and get a good liquid test kit from API or Hagen (there are others too) that test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.
