Erythrinus Erythrinus And Tank Mates?

Just wondering what tank mates could go with one of these? From what i've read theyre not as agressive as some oof the other types of wolf fish . Wildwoods have a nice looking one which is 14cm ish. I presume as long as the tank mates are bigger than it it should be ok? Smallest thing i have in the tank is probs my Ornate Bichir which is growing fast about 3-4inch atm. Any thoughts? Anything i'd have to loose from my stocking? If not compatible i'll have to sort my shed out and make some racking to put some tanks in, wont be for some time though.

I've been googling for some time now about these and can't find much on their compatiblity. I believe theyre the most likely of the species to mix with others tank mates however i've read conflicting posts on what they can be kept with . Some say it's find with anything bigger than it by a fair bit and then i've read posts saying it wont accept anything that looks remotly like it's self, which i presume will count of snakeheads and possibly bichirs? I've got a 40gal it could go into with Snakeheadsa and i have a 120ish gal it could go into which has bichir;'s in it. The bichirs are bigger than the wolf fish as are all the tank mates.

It's kinda hit and miss, sorta like mixing piranhas (pygos) with non conspecifics. A 40g is suitable imo for only one fish, but it depends on the fish, some are very active, others not so much. In general they are far more active than malas though.

You could try it and see how it goes if you have another tank ready to separate them.

Cheers for the response , i've signed up over there and got a general consensus they should be ok int he larger tank.
Just so happens might be getting a free acrylic tank which sounds like a 3x2x2 or slightly larger so shouldnt have to wurry to much about tank mates
