I have no problem with "newbies" trying to give stocking advice in public posts, because other members can correct mistakes which helps people learn. Trying to pass out information in private messages however means that no one can tell you are wrong if you are. That means you don't learn, and people could possibly be stuck with advice that is poor.

If you look at how long I've owned my tank, or the number of fish I've personally owned...I am a "newbie". I spend several hours a day reading forum posts, learning which members give good advice (and thus who to trust), and doing my own research on various species. Sadly enough I understand some things that people with twice (or more) of my own post count do not, but I'm not foolish enough to think that I am an expert in anything yet.

LOl it says stocking suggestions... I was only gonna say what looks good etc. And also loads of people on the forum ask questions that can be easily found on google. I was only gonna look up some suggestions and say what would help because I was bored.. Ive tried heloing poeople twice on this forum but all I get is bad feedback. Im not even gonna bother making another post... No-one on this forum appreciates any help given anymore. I was only gonna make a few suggestions and say my opinions etc. Just tyring to give something back to the people that have helped me before...126 posts.. hope its gonna stay that way.. cause i cba anymoreif people politely said ricky are you sure this is a good idea? or just pmed me saying ohh im not sure this is the best idea but thanks anyway isntead i get comments likeyou might want to think about helping people after you help your own fishby getting rid of some if your over stocked it can make your fish stressed or unhappy this can cause problems later on (just a little advise )and ive never been overstocked.. 5 silver tipped tetras in a 12 gallon tank and a male betta in a 5 gallon.. somehow I dont see the stocking problem AT ALLcorrr all im trying to do is give people some advice.. i know how many fish should be stocked per each tank now.. ive done my research and read up about it.. i suggest that if this post doesnt help you.. then dont make uneccesary posts trying to undermine me and look like a mug when what im TRYING to do is talk to some people about there tanks and maybe help with stockin suggestions for god sakeeeeust wondering, how can you be doing this? You've made at least 10 threads asking questionsand you've just started a tank, so pretty much you're a beginneryou shouldn't be advising people on stuff IMO. At least that's my opinion from what i've seen from you so far. from tamara..well tamara.. from those '10 posts' i have made askign advice on stocking i have learnt from and are just trying to spread my newly learnt knowledge so other people can beenfit

Sorry some poeple DO appreciate the help however others just take it as a joke... atleast im trying to help...

... I totally agree with you wanting to help others, and I am fine with that. Lots of newbies know their stuff and have learnt from posts they've read, but wouldn't it be better to do so in a topic others have posted?
Not only do others get advice if they are having a similar situation and read the topic, but, if you are mistaken, other members will correct you and people can post their different opinions and experiences.
Once again, I understand that you wanted to help others, but when you do it prvatley, all you do is help 1 person, and if you are wrong, there is no one there to correct you so you may not help anyone at all! Responding to public topics gives lots of guests and newbies chances to learn something in that topic instead of starting lots with the same questions.

"Marine/tropical - Whats the difference"
I did say loads of people eg me.. but i am not the person who needs help in question...ALso the question wasnt just whats the difference it was also different fish.. upkeep which is best asked from people with expeirence and that have had the different tank themsleves rather than write ups on the itnernet?

You must know that you're not going to be making any friends here with your recent attitude. You have to know that. You're being critical with everybody who's posting in any of your threads. Everyone started out trying to help you. But, for some reason, although it seemed you wanted the help at first, you quickly turned around and got a really snotty, holier-than-thou, attitude. You've created multiple threads, for no real purpose other than to blow your own horn. But you don't really have a horn to blow, do you? Your knowledge about the hobby is really limited. You're capable of learning, but you're so busy being angry with everyone and finding fault with their replies to you, that you're ruining your own experience here. After awhile, you'll be the boy who cried Wolf and no one will respond to your threads. Is that what you really want?

You need to back off. Seriously. You need to learn to be grateful and thank those who try to help you and accept the criticism of those who've tried to steer you in the right direction. You're really testing people's patience with you and that's a sad thing. This is a really great forum with boundless opportunities to learn. But you're forgetting that.

You may be hearing, but you're not listening..... :shifty:

Lynda B

I've tried to post you recently but you've set your porfile to private or something like that.
And I think you'll find some of the things you've said are wrong.?

I named this thread don't click.. But for some reason you all still do...

You PM'd me inappropriately last week.... I blocked you.

As for why people are still in this thread, you can't start a topic, allow it to get heated, and then expect it to die off just because you want it to. It doesn't work that way.

If you feel that you would like to comment on my post, please feel free to do so here. I'd be happy to read what you have to say.

by making it say dont click it makes us all click  but anyhow leave the guy alone, yes you've told him to post stuff in topics instead of PM, he is NOT overstocked as he has said earlier so god knows why your all saying it. He is only trying to show his opinion of what would look nice and is trying to help others like people have helped him!

leave him alone!

Because.. Lynda B,

I think that the message I sent you was quite nice condering I could have said other things which obivously we both are quite aware of. And also, I had another topic in another thread saying new tank? Fish suggestions. And I named around 200 (estimate) fish that I researched and would be good for new tanks (obivously not eveyrone will agree) however everyone said my thread was unuseful and they didnt like it. SO I got rid of it. I made this one saying enw to the hobby check out my toehr thread if you got a new tank.. Then I changed it to pm me if you like... hence the edit..

But then people started saying I wasnt expeirneced enough which I appreciate because it is probably true. But then when people are constantly having a go and causing unceccesary greif then its not nice isit? I didnt sit there looking up fish names on google for just myself. And I certainly didnt sit there like an idiot typing them out for myself. It was just so people knew there was a variety of fish. But once again.. my help is uneeded. But maybe is people said ricky i think you should research some more then you would be a better asset to helping newbies rather than telling me im voerstocked.. which i am not. And that my help is 100% total useless and im a rude idiot. All I said was.. up urs :D As in like I did research.. I said sorry. And now everyone seems to drag it up.. HENCE YOU

and as this thread is nothing but meaningless posts then newbies will not benefit from reading this thread as it is now

5 silver tipped tetras in a 12 gallon tank and a male betta in a 5 gallon
I'm sorry. But i have a really hard time beleiving that in one day you got a 5gallon tank and starting it all up and everything. you're probably lying again, like you lied to me telling me you had another tank so you knew that your "new fish cycling tablet things" worked because you tried it on your other tank. Yet if you did have another tank you would have been enthusiastic enough to have put it on your signature like you did with your 12 gallon tank. So far what i 've gotten from you is that you've got three tanks. And i'm sorry but from your attitude i do not beleive that one bit. From what you've told me, you have a 12, 20 and 5 gallon tank. I'm sorry but i cannot beleive you anymore and i don't know why anyone would lie about something like that because it doesn't help your poor fish.

ACTUALLY i didnt know how to make the signature :D and yes I did have an old 5 gallon tank but then the next day bought a 12 gallon because i was advised by people on here..

tamara i was also told that bettas dont need a cycled tank...

and the fish cycling tablets did work with my enxt door neighbours tank (as far as im aware of)

could have been different things

bye tamara please dont talk to me i was extrmely disgusted with ur racist remark about me being english and not speaking the same slang as you :D

never have i said i have got a 20 gallon tank.. sorry tamara u racist but ive never said that
