Epsom Salts To Platy Tank

One of my platys has fish dropsy and I have no quaranitne tank and i was wondering if putting epsom salts in my main tank would harm my platy and platy fry?

What else is in the tank? Platies can deal with a bit of salinity, but other fish and invertibrates can't tolerate any.

Epsom salt is different from aquarium salt. It helps with dropsy, when used with a good antibiotic. Even then it's 50/50 with dropsy.

I would med in a seperate tank. Epsom salt on its own won't do much for dropsy.
