🐠 TOTM ENTER NOW: November 2025 Tank of the Month Contest (31 US gallons and larger)

It's been awhile since I have been on TFF Totm. Just sharing the upgrade I have done to keep my discus fish.

Dimensions of the tank is 133cm x 61cm x 44cm. Volume 345 liters cement wall tank with front glass-wall.
The tank is a well cycled fish tank with minimum care and maintenance with only a weekly water change.

I added white sand to the substrate and an extra stable light to reduce peppering in checkerboard, solid yellow and red melon. It has worked so far.

Tank residents are patterns, stripes and solid discus fish with 2 bosemani rainbows, 7 cardinal tetras and trumpet snails.

Plants
• Cryptocoryne
• Rotala macrandra green
• Cuba
• Pogostomon
• Pothos

Pogostomon has dominated the aquascape from the time I introduced it into the tank. It has helped balanced the tank during medical treatments like kmno4 (condis), methylene blue and aquarium salt for discus fish.

Water Parameters
• Ph 6 - 7
• Temp. 28c
• Tap water

Low tech tank with double tubeline air-pums, gravel filters 12 inch x 12 inch Filter area and sponge filter regular size. DIY canister sump filter 2000 lph with filter media above the fish tank.

My pothos plants are a natural UV light setup for the canister filters killing all green surface algae inside the filters from sunlight. For stable lighting 80 cm aibao LED submersible light along with a auto analog thermometer.

50% water change is done every once a week. Glass wall is cleaned every water change.
Feeding happens daily.
