I have a ten gallon freshwater tropical tank set up in my dorm room (its the biggest they allow us). As the RA, I personally think I should be able to have a bigger one, but what can you do.

Anyway, I have been cycling the tank for months. I left it over the winter holiday to cycle and slowly began to add more fish. I've finally reached my limit with 3 male guppies, 3 platys, and 3 cory cats. I also have a nice grass like plant growing that I can't think of the name for, but its very hardy. A friend of mine gave me a chunk from his tank. The tank is absolutely beautiful and I have absolutely no problems with ammonia levels or nitrates.

Along with my heater, I have a Penguin Biowheel Mini filter running. It seems to work great. My question is, do you think the filter alone is providing enough dissolved oxygen for the fish or should I get a bubble wand of some kind? Thanks in advance!

Oh and I put a picture just so you can see what my set up is. Sorry its not the best quality!

how much surface movement do it have? if there is a nice flow across the tank it should be fine. but you can always add a air pump/ stone it want do no harm.

On my rio 125 iv got my pump nozzle facing under the water creating a current just above half way up the tank, is this ok im changing the water every 1 / 2 weeks when i say changing i mean 25% having the pump nozzle turn the other way around so it creaes alot of movment on the suface is this better then?

depends on what fish you got, but i would say yes, have the direction on the surface, but that's just me
