Endlers Vs Endler-Guppy Hybrid?

Is there a way to tell the difference as I'm completely new to Endler's. I'd like to start a species only tank in my 30L. What is the disadvantage of guppy-endler hybrids? Also, how many would be suitable for a 30L?

Unless you or your LFS go to a specialist breeder, the Endler's you buy will be Endler/guppy hybrids. There's no actual disadvantage in the fish themselves, just the risk of losing the Endler altogether if something happens to the wild population, but luckily there are dedicated hobbyists and fish breeders who keep pure strains

You could have five or six, but you'll have to get males only (unless you have a spare tank) as a 30l isn't big enough to grow on fry
