Well I finally think one of my endlers is pregnant. She is getting quite fat vs the other fem's. I can't wait they are my first livebearer's so this is quite exciting! Of course this means I better start planning for a bigger tank :)

Thanks I'll definitely post some pics.

I've read that Endlers don't eat thier young so hopefully they can just be born into the general population. We will see I can't use a breeding net with the tank they are in so they will have to be. There are plenty of places to hide though.

Now if only my Butterfly Goodeid's would get busy :hey:

Should be soon she is starting to look quite square. She is also darting around the tank quite a bit. Maybe I will have a surprise tomorrow when I come home.

Well this morning when I was feeding them I saw babies :kana:

They were hiding up on my amazon swords. I also learned that some endlers might not eat thier young but mine will give it a try. They don't actively hunt them but if they are passing by they make a stab at them. Luckily while the endlers are fast the babies are faster. So far anyway. I'm gonna try and grab a breeding net at lunch and hopefully can make it work on the tank I have them in. I will try and get pics later.

Well it looks like I saved 2 there might be more hiding but I can't find them. I have been crushing up flakes really fine. I am trying to feed them only a little bit but often. They are insanely cute

Awwwww, ain't it the truth? We just turn into giant mushballs where fry are concerned! I talk to mine all the time and they come right to the glass to look back at me. I'm sure I'm the strangest thing they've EVER seen!

Looking forwards to pictures of them, hoping they make it,

congrads. i would love to see pictures. are endlers hard to keep? i've never seen any at the lfs.

I found another this morning. It was soo funny he was hanging out beside the breeding net. So I scooped him up and added him to the other 2. I'm not sure if they are eating the crushed flake I am feeding them so I'm gonna get some liqifry tonight and try that. I think my platy's might be pregnant now. I might pick up another breeding net tonight in case they come before I can release the endlers into the tank.

Endlers are extremely easy to keep and are wonderful fish. They like to nibble at my hands when I have them in the tank. They have no fear it would seem. The males like to flare at me when I am sitting close watching them. They will let you get very close to them in the water and you can easily feed them by hand.
