Hi All,
After years of keeping a species tank of tetras I am going back to 'my old love' of Livebearers. However, as I still have several tetras remaining would prefer to keep them in the tank at least initially for variety. I have just been offered a couple of trios of Endlers (which are still quite young!) Would these be OK in the tank, which is fairly heavily planted, that still contains the following tetras :- Roberts, Bloodfin, Glowlights and Blue Emperors?
Also, which livebearers would also be capable of being kept with the Endlers, I do not intend to keep either Swords or Mollies.

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

They should be ok, although I'm not 100% sure. You may need someone else to clarify. But other livebearers that can be kept with endlers are guppies. Although they will breed together. If you don't really want cross breeding then I would personally go for platies.

Good Luck :good:

I agree with that. If you want to breed endlers, don't choose guppies. They will hybridise and hybrid guppy/endler is usually not that atractive and doesn't sell well. I <3 platies though so I might be biased :)

I am Keeping Lamp Eye Killies with My Endlers and they get on fine.
Their Bright Blue Eyes look nice amongst the endlers.

Thanks for that info. I had thought that Platies would be the better option, I had considered guppies but then thought about the breeding situation (and am I right that Endler x Guppies produce sterile off spring anyway?) Lookin at the size of the Endlers I have been offered I would probably put them in a breeding net or trap for the timebeing.

Bruce
