I have am empty 10 gallon sitting in my front yard and I can't just see it sit there without anything in it. Although it doesn't have any lights or accessories. It is just the 10 gallon with some purple gravel. :p I was thinking about a paradise fish or a male betta? I would change the gravel out, get a few low-light live plants and sit it near the window. (Not so it got too much sunlight to grow a lot of algae though) then maybe a small filter.

So...what should I go with? A betta or paradise fish?

A betta but wouldn't put the tank in direct sunlight, also you will need a heater to keep temp stable.

Oh, I know what I will do. I have a cute lamp I could set next to the 10 gallon so it would get a source of light in the daytime. I am not that worried about a heater because I live in Florida and the temp always stays around 76-80 in my house. The water never gets below 75. But small heaters are only about 6$ so I may pick one up as well.

I would also get a lid! Betas can jump.
Oh yea. Although I've never had a betta jump...I've heard terrible stories. Maybe I will just hold off on the 10 gallon but just cycle it for a hospital tank or something? :dunno:

I do have a molly that is pregnant AGAIN! I could set up the 10 gallon for her to have her babies in. Then I would have to buy everything for it though. :dunno:

Id set it up for the molly fry.
Well I have 7 fry in a breeding net in my 29 gallon now and I will probably keep half of them (all of the females) and donate the rest to a LFS. Then when she has more, donate those as well. I just love watching them grow though...so hard to get rid of them. :-(

Nah, same here, my platy only had 7 her first time around. My molly also only had 10 her first time. They tend to have small batches their first birth. Exception being Guppies, mine just had her first batch and she had 25! Yikes!

Now they dont have to go you have a 10 gallon to put them in, until they get bigger.
