Emporor 400b + Diy Co2

has anyone hooked up a diy co2 to an emporor 400b? if so did u just put a hole in the intake tube and insert it into that, or how did you do it? any help would be aprpeciated as i am planning on making a co2 genorator this week.

Are you sure you wanna do that?

I think that will kinda defeat the purpose of putting CO2 in the tank. You'll probably get better results if you use a good diffuser and place the CO2 inlet on the other side of the tank away from the filter.

im not really sure of what i want to do, lol. ive just been going by what ive read in some previous posts, where they put it with the filter intake that way it gets dispersed into the water more effeciently. personally though, i dont care where it gets placed at, because if i have to put it with its own diffuser ill burry it under the substrate so its hidden like my regular air diffuser is.

Ahhh.. You probably read someone doing that for a cannister filter, which would be perfect, but for a HOB filter it's not a great idea.

so i should just put a regular diffuser onto the end of the airline as i normally would then? also, do you know of any good online places to buy plants from? i purchased some from aquaticplantdepot.com a while back, and was really dissapointed with them. mainly with their lack of communication, 5 emails sent, 0 responding to my questions. but i have yet to find any other good places to buy from.

Yep. I personally use an airstone to diffuse, but many people disagree with my method. Works for me though!

cool, ill check that place out later on today, i still am waiting on my neighbor here to finish his bottle of applejuice so i can use it for my co2 tank, lol. the only good thing about being in college, free used plastic bottles.
