I had to fantails (sadly i only have 1 now)
3 weeks ago my normally busy fish (Jinx And Minx) started to sleep alot nearly all day huddle together in cave. would feed ok but almost straight away go back to bed. Then we found 1 stuck in the filter we gently moved him out but he had no energy (But was still eating ok) Later we found him again stuck to the filter so we moved him to a smaller tank and he would swim normally for a bit but then sit at bottom of tank. He had no signs of any illness. Next day him was at he top of the tank just floating fins down i fed him so defrosted blood worm and he shot down to eat but he couldnt seem to swallow it, i sat with him for hours but he steyed at the top of the tank finally as i got up he shot over to me i thoughts things would be ok. sadly Jinx had died. (hence my user name) Cleaning the tank out we find what we can only describe as a live worm redish worm, but dont understand where it came from as only have 2 goldfish bought at the same time from same shop. Could this worm be the cause?
After taking jinx out of big tank minx who was showing same symptoms became really active and back to his normal mad self.
My emergency is that he is now showing all of the above symptoms. Just sitting on bottom of tank no outward signs of anything wrong, but fins are down and only has energy when i feed him, he does seems fatter then normally.
We have put in tetra gold med but this has made no difference.
Please help me as i dont want to lose minx as well
