ok, Im sure most of you remember me.. my set up is in my siggy.

right now, my tank gang has ich. I bought some solution that does not contain copper and used that, temp is up around 82, 83*, I changed the water to lower the salt level as well. As someone suggested (Nav i think), I mixed garlic with their food. I am about to get a cleaner shrimp to help them out.

anything else to help them?

and my nitrate and nitrite is high-

Nitrate is 20
Nitrite is between 1.0 and 2.0.
pH is 8.2
Ammonia is .25

Any way I can lower the nitrate and nitrite? Any suggestions?

and one of my clowns died  I noticed he was swimming upside down and looked very pale. So I scooped him out to put him in the hospital tank, and he died as soon as I put him in. I think the added stress with the net killed him. Bye clown :byebye:

I would say do a water change first.

how long since your tank cycled? it could be that maybe it is spiking
right now? ammonia and nitrites should be at zero.

Immediate and regular water changes will help, and in the short term you may also want to try and ammonia absorber. Sorry to repeat myself but is it all possible you could find another hobbyist in the area who could hold onto the fish for you while your tank cycles as there is little hope of any of them surviving.

ps. the ich is a result of stress and unless you address what is causing this (in your case water quality/ tank size/ overcrowding) then you will have regular problems.

From what i can see the tank has definately not cycled fully. I would do a water change asap but this wont solve the problem long term as it will not allow the tank to cycle by removing the toxins that the bacteria need to grow. I would try and get as much live rock in the tank as possible, its the only sure way of reducing these toxins fast and efficiently.

I echo the comments above, can anyone look after the fish whilst it cycles? Im afraid to say that you will continually get whitespot with that tang still in the tank

The treatments may go a long way to help but you are only treating the disease and not the cause of the disease

same as above really. Have you tried asking the LFS to re-home the fish? that size of tank will struggle to house the pair of clowns you have, not to mention all the other fish. The tank is too young and there are far to many fish in it. :(

ste :)

Pleeeeeeeeease, for the sake of your fish, find another LFS to give some of the fish to. (Look in the phone book, call information, etc.) They are way too cramped and no amount of meds or water changes is going to solve your situation. If possible, try to get AT LEAST 10lbs of cured LR in that tank. That might help the problem temporarily, but you definitely cannot have any more than 2-3 inches of fish for that tank. Saltwater fish need at least 4 gallons per inch of fish. Sorry for your loss. :byebye:

I went crazy asking my lfs to home the fish for me, I dont know anyone near me. The LFS said no, one said they had no room.

they wont even hold them temporary for me until I can get another tank. I tried everything. i even called an aquarium about 2 hours from me, no luck there.

After this, Im switching back to fresh, they are easier to care for. :(

I repeat myself. Where exactly are you? If you go to reefcentral.com, scroll down to "more forums" and click on "club forums" you WILL find a club for your area and you WILL find people willing to buy your fish or hold them for you.

Even if your tank was cycled it could not, for any durration of time, sustain such a number of fish!
One Y tang alone needs a minimum of a 55 (and I personally think a 75 is not large enough for a full grown... those fellas can fly fast.
Even one clown fish in a 10 is pushing it. but 2!!!

Really now. One damsel and one pistol shrimp should be it.

Even if this was FW equivilent you would be cruly over stocked. :/
