Electronic Ballast Controller

I've just bought a replacement T5 tube for my Fluval Vicenza 180, and the instructions for the tube instruct me that I must be sure that I have an appropriate Electronic Ballast Controller fitted. My existing lights are T5s and I've not changed the wattage - is it safe to assume that I already have whatever controller is required, or do I need to research further?

If its a direct reaplcement like for like then yes no problem.

You are highly unlikely to find that any ballast fitted by the manufacturers will be too powerful for other tubes of the same length and diameter. If anything they often underpower them slightly.
