Electric Yellow... Red Poo..

Is red poo normal for an electric yellow?

Just got these in a tank from my neighbour and one of the 2 seems to have red poo, haven't seen the others yet.

Is it red like blood or more like a reddish brown? A diet high in carotene (or beta carotene) which promotes bright colors will turn the poo slightly red, at least IME it does. Feeding them blood worms will cause them to poo bright red.

Ok thanks! Might be it. I will check with the previous owner to see what he fed them and get back if it doesn't add up.

Even flake food can produce different coloured poos so dont worry about it - my flake food is green yellow and bright pink!
