El Ferts, Substrates & Plant Advice

Hi All

i'm new to this so forgive the stupid questions

(what does LOL mean?, what are EL ferts? + ideal substrate?)

still fishless cycling but almost there and i've started reading about planted tanks etc

i would like to do the right thing but the more i read the more confussing i get

can anyone give some advice or point me in the right direction

i have a 60ltr tank and small budget is it still possible?

Lol can stand for a few things (laugh out loud, lots of laughter...it basically means something is funny.)

Ideal substrate depends on what you want or what you want your tank to look like.There is no 'ideal' it's all down to preference. But for planted aquariums it's usefull to have some laterite (a type of nutrient rich substrate) and a layer of something on top (gravel or sand usually.) for aesthetics.
