I am finding that my water is getting significantly cloudy using the trace mix from AquaEssentials. It only happens in my larger tank so some reason, and the pinned thread suggests using Tropica Plant Nutrition instead to prevent the issue. Given I now have some, and that I am dosing 2ml trace (mixed at suggested levels from the pinned thread) do I now simply use 2ml of Tropica Plant Nutrition instead?

I've had no problems with the AE mix but I dose it dry.
I dose about 2 gms in my 115 gallon 3x wkly.

It's just one of those things. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Tropica has a much better chelator so should cause fewer clouding problems.

Just a note.

I dose 6ml in my 125Ltr rather than the 5 suggested by the pinned thread. small amount I know but seems to make a little difference.

Today was the first day I added Tropica PN instead of the AE trace. Previously the cloudiness has been instantly noticeable when I get back from work (~9 hours from the dose going in the tank) - today there is no cloudiness at all, the water is amazingly clear! Hopefully this will continue :)

That's good news. Tropica Plant Nutrition may cost more but it is definitely the best trace available.

But one of a few that don't tell you what is in it!
