Hi,

Is this the below link the correct seal for an EHEIM Professsional 2 (3baskets), i bought it about 8years ago ( so i think there is a newer version?), but obviously I still need the seal that fits my old version.

http://www.arkpetsonline.co.uk/eheim-2028-sealing-gasket-p-5225.html

I tested my Eheim today and it was leaking, it looks like the seal has hair in cracks in the rubber.

Thanks!

It looks like it. But if you want to be 100% sure you can go the the Eheim site and compare the part numbers. http://www.eheim.com/

I have a couple of the 2026s. They no longer make these models and I wonder how long we will be able to get parts. That particular sealing gasket is made of a material that doesn't last in open air real long. I had problems years back and talked to the folks at Eheim and had it explained to me. I normally keep some spare parts for most of the filter lines I use on the shelf. The Eheim tech suggested I not do this for this gasket as it would likely "go bad" after 6-12 months.

Eheim does sell parts from that site if one can't find it anywhere else.

Thanks Two tank, well mine has been out in the air for a looong time! so i wasn't surprised it wasn't any good, i think i found one on ebay and i've bought it, I'll see in a few days if its right, it certainly looks like it.

...now im trying to get the float ball! the only one ive found is a red float now, rather than the white ball i had before.

Over time those float balls seem to erode. I have two of the 2026s for about 8 years now. One no longer has the ball and the other one should have its ball vanish soon as well.

They are really more decorative than functional, imo. I never run canisters at anything but full flow rates and I don't need a ball to tell me when they need cleaning.
