About a week ago I rehomed a Juwel Rio 180 setup, which came with (amongst other things) two Eheim Pro external filters - no idea what exact model, and a Fluval 4+ internal. I've been running all three - the Fluval isn't cycled yet but the two externals were running before I picked the tank up so should be fine.

I've just come home from a night shift and both are making a noise. I've tried turning off and on again a couple of times, but both keep making the same noise. They are both pumping out - looks a bit less than normal but I may be being paranoid.

These are the first externals I've owned - what should I do?

**Edit:

Strangely enough they've settled down now. Not an emergency from what I can tell any more, but any idea on what to try to work out whats going on with them?

I've got an eheim 2226 and mine does this occasionally if it's been off just give it a wee shake and the noise normally disappears

When i first got mine i could hear it all the time but now i hardly hear it all it's either got quiet or i've grown used to it!

its trapped air when also servicing the filter it worth taking the impeller out and give it a clean as a bit of gunk on it can make the impeller go off balance an vibrate i clean mine every other service
