im now on my 3rd Eheim 3702 pump and m second 3701, all have the same problem, the magnets that are glued to the arm thats attatched to the bellows work themselves loose and stick to the electromagnet at the wiring end, and no matter what glue i try i just can NOT get them to stay in place

my 3702 packed up lastnight and as a result, come the morning, i had a dead red tail shark, synodontis cat, a garra ruffa fish and a couple of small tetra

Im wondering if its a common problem or if its just my bad luck?

Have you gotten them replaced or repaired under warranty?

Are you using air powered filters? Those fish sound compatible with internal and external filters, so you should consider adding one as a backup, in case the main filter fails. If you are already using a separate filter, direct the flow so it disturbs the surface more, which should get enough oxygen into the water for the fish to live.. and if it is not enough, have a look at your stocking, because you may be overstocked.

I didnt get them under warrenty as i couldnt find the paperwork that came with them, so i just paid cash money.

I run an Eheim external filter, these were in the tank to add the extra surface aggitation that i dont get with my filter setup, because i dont use a spray bar as such, just an open end due to the spray bar constantly clogging up with random deposits that seem to keep getting through the filter :S

As for the overstocking, there arent many fish in the tank at the moment because ive got 3 tanks running now instead of just the one large one, biggest occupant being a 5" Gibbi/ Sailfin, a couple of bristlenoses, 4 Khuli loach, a couple of Ottos and the other fish that had died,

They were all in a 3ft X 2ft X 1.5ft tank, which by my maths works out at pretty much the limit, but ive got a feeling im going to get told otherwise

Plus i like the bubbles and so do the fish
